 Overview of Trojan Racing Stable

At Trojan Racing Stable honesty, integrity, and dedication are paramount. We are 110% committed in providing our owners the best opportunities in Thoroughbred racehorse ownership. The welfare and well being of all of our racehorses is our number one concern. All of our racehorses are provided with the best training programs available and treated with unparalleled veterinary care.

Before a purchase we spend countless hours analyzing, critiquing, reviewing, and inspecting our future crop of runners. Without a doubt, Executive Bloodstock consultant, David Ingordo is one of the best within the entire Thoroughbred industry. With this level of commitment we realize that your racehorse is an extremely valuable investment and your investment is our investment.

Therefore, we will never knowingly put any of our racehorses in jeopardy, or race them if they are not entirely conditioned and healthy. Deviating from this philosophy only exasperates the health of the racehorse, compounding injuries, thus diminishing the overall performance of our equine athletes.

The Professional Standards of Trojan Racing Stable

Expectations: Winning races at America’s premier race tracks. The majority of our horses race in Southern California at Santa Anita Park, Hollywood Park, and Del Mar. We also race in Kentucky, Illinois, Florida, Arkansas, and New York. Our number one goal is to produce winners, as you enjoy the thrill and excitement of racehorse ownership

Community: We are much more than a business partnership. Trojan Racing Stable is an intimate family of individuals joining a community of racehorse enthusiasts. We strongly encourage all of our clients to visit their racehorses and trainers on the backside of the race track. Tom Specht, Managing Member, is a very "hands on" horseman, adhering to strict attention to detail. He discusses strategies with the trainers and personally inspects your racehorses on a regular basis.

Experience: Our specialty is Thoroughbred racing partnerships, training, breeding, and selling Thoroughbred racehorses. Over 50 years of combined breeding and racing experience has symbolized Trojan Racing Stable as an ethos of success.

Professionalism: Because of our experience, success, and invaluable knowledge, we have obtained the most knowledgeable, educated, experienced trainers/"conditioners", veterinarians, and blacksmiths.

Financial Infrastructure: We operate as an LLC. Managing Members; Tom Specht, and David Ingordo have organized a business model with detailed organization, easy to read financial statements, with full accountability.

What type of horses do we look for?

We look for a variety of runners based upon athleticism, conformation, and an excellent pedigree. Because of our horseman’s background, we possess excellent insights into determining the horse’s personality and demeanor. Only experienced trainers and bloodstock agents are able to do this. It definitely takes a horseman’s background to judge personality, body language, and especially athletic ability which are critical factors when evaluating a runner.

First and foremost we place our criteria in purchasing an athletic filly with an excellent pedigree. Preferably, a filly who runs distance on the turf.

Moreover, this method will not exclusively limit our selections towards colts and geldings. We prefer  fillies because even if she runs in moderately valued races, based upon her pedigree, her aftermarket value is enhanced at the sales ring, once her racing career has concluded. Our goal is to breed her to a fashionable sire and sell her in foal. This sales objective will tremendously boost her aftermarket value, thus maximizing investor profit.
